■Society of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary

The Daughters of the Heart of Mary is a Catholic congregation which was founded in 1791 in Paris. It now has foundations in 30 countries in Africa, North and South America, Asia and Europe. It was established in Japan in 1959, and for 40 years has been responsible for the management of 'Meisen-ryo', a hostel for women students at Sophia University. In April 2002, Meisen-ryo will become 'Studio Meisen', and the Daughters of the Heart of Mary will continue to care for students.
