Study Tour to India

Kasuya Noahiro

This is the second time for me to visit a developing country. I visited Guatemala last year.

The situation of Guatemala was worse than that in India. So the tour gave me a kind of disappointment at first. I, however, learned a lot in India. Most of all, I realized that we, human beings, are all related to each other beyond borders. Before visiting India, I had not very assured of it.

The smiles of poor people and the kindness of sisters in convents who hosted us were true and sincere, I am certain. Their attitude taught me to smile to others around me and made me feel that I am important.

Through the tour I came to understand how small I am and how little I know. In what occasion did I realize it? I regret that I was not able to learn from past experience in Guatemala. I think I don't have enough desire to know. I have a goal in my life and to reach my goal, I have to know more and grow.

It may sound naïve but I have got a seed in this tour. It is up to me whether it grows and bloom or not. The more care I give to it, the more flowers will come out. It is this awareness that I have got from this tour.
