Question: What attracted you in joining the Society of the Daughters of the Heart of Mary?
Answer: I was attracted by the way of life which encourages me to offer my life totally to 'Eternal God, my Lord'. Our spirituality is based on that of St Ignatius and he served the Lord just like a knight. I love my society and I am proud that I am a loving daughter of Jesus and Mary.
Q: What do you do now?
A: I am involved in several kinds of work. I take Bible class, teach catechism in the church and organize prayer meetings, which are more directly related to evangelization. I have long been teaching Japanese flower arrangement, through which I have indirectly given messages of the Lord to my students. Recently I started to teach flower arrangement to people with mental disorders I am trying to make friends with them through my lessons.
Q: What was your aspiration when you entered the society?
A: I wanted to live a religious life among people in the world, based on the spirituality of St Ignatius.
Q: Will you tell me what DHM is like?
A: I believe that our society, which is not outstanding outwardly in the society, is able to contribute greatly to evangelization of cultures. We are ready to serve any nation or people
and give necessary help and support to people.
Q: How did you get to know the society?
A: A priest, my spiritual guide, introduced me to the society.
Q: Do you have any advice to those who are thinking of joining the society?
A: I recommend them that they should understand the aim of religious life, the spirituality of the founders, and our overall activities in the society.
