Can you hear my cry?

Rejoice, rejoice, for Christ is born for us. Glory to God in the highest and Peace to his people on earth. Let all the heavens, sing a song to God, and bless his name. Let all the lands and seas shout for joy.

But today when we look around the world there is no peace.

This Christmas Jesus is born with a crown of thorns, Let us look at thousands and thousands of children in misery. Many innocent children are victims of evil today. Can we hear the cries of these children?

A number of children have been killed in wars just like cats and dogs. Some were burnt like firewood. Can I be called a human being to allow this to happen? Every day many lives have been destroyed through abortion. These children are just voiceless. I remember how much my mother loved me in my childhood. Some children are abused in labor or in prostitute. Some children are suffering from HIV and other diseases. Some children are homeless and hungry. Some children are fearful of violence, revenge, fighting, and killing in marital conflicts. So many children are victims of evil of the modern world. I feel like wondering if these are happening in a real modern world or an unreal world.

I ask myself if my education is leading me to being a loving person or to growing hatred and bitterness in my heart. Children, who are supposed to experience golden days in their childhood, are torn and tattered by evil of this world.

Christ was born in a simple stable and lying on straws in manger. He came to this world to bring hope and assurance, to give us peace and joy, and to teach us to forgive and to love. When we see the modern world, He seems to be born with a crown of thorns. Each thorn is badly piercing the heart, tender skin, soul, and mind of children who are helpless and weak in the hands of evil. We are so insensible and numb to their suffering that our hearts are like stones. How can I become more aware of my responsibility for their misery? Kingdom of God belongs to these children.

Tears and sorrows of children in misery will not give us true happiness and peace. God may bless these children and change a crown to thorns into a crown of flowers so that they may not suffer any longer but they may be given the right to enjoy happy childhood and to live as children of God. Let us celebrate this Christmas in praying for children suffering all over the world, Let us bring light and joy to their lives. And let us be channels of peace of God so that all children in the world will experience peace, happiness and love.
